We could hardly have asked for a better set of fixtures to ease our way back into the Premier League. Two wins and two draws and a loss in our opening five games against some of the league’s poorer teams. Is this really good enough?

To have a chance of staying up this year, surely these are the types of teams we need to beat. All of them will be battling it out with us in the bottom half of the table, some fighting for survival, at the end of the season.

With our forwards’ inability to regularly score goals, should we not be concerned for our Premier League status? Thank our lucky stars for Nolan. He has scored 3 of our 5 goals this season. not good enough really, is it? Why can’t our strikers find the net?

Our first real test will come in a few weeks time when we play Arsenal. We saw what they did against Southampton to brush them aside and how they matched Manchester City at the weekend. Will our static back four be able to cope with their slick passing game?

There are a whole host of teams in the Premier League that play fast, slick, passing football. Will we be able to cope? Thankfully Jaaskelainen has not been fully tested up to now but he will be in the weeks and months ahead. How will he cope when we face the creme dela creme of strikers?

By the turn of the new year when we have played all teams once, the league will take its true shape. This is when we can really tell how well we have done. Will we rue the opportunity for not taking more of an advantage of our relatively comfortable start to the season? What do you all think?
