Give Obiang time

Pedro Obiang

Despite not being in the team consistently this season new comer Pedro Obiang has certainly made an impression on the fans however they seems to be a very split opinion on the Spaniard.

From the games I’ve watched Obiang has been very impressive and only seemed to be off the pace in the games where the whole team were. The West Brom game was a prime example where the midfielder put in a great performance and was one of our best players yet some people believed he was the worst player on the pitch. It has been a while since a player divided opinion so much.

It seems when all four defensive midfielders are fit he is not first choice and when three start, which seems to always be a problem at Bilic ends up changing at half time, he is the one taken off first. Obiang is still a very young pplayer and I believed paired with Kouyate or Noble, who I heard was unimpressive at the weekend however it’s important to remember he’s put fantastic performances in this season, he can grow into a fantastic player and staple in the team.

Fans are never going to agree on the performance of every player but he is good and a very passionate team player so here’s hoping more fans start to warm to him.
