Jonjo’s Diary Week 2

West Ham Charity

Last week was really busy.  I started secondary school and was a bit worried but it was okay.  Some of my friends from my primary school are in my form and the hardest part so far is learning how to tie my tie.

My new school was really kind as they let me have the day off on Thursday for my annual charity golf day.  It takes place at Ilford Golf Club and they are really kind.  Tony Cottee, Tony Gale, John Moncur and Kenny Brown Jnr all came to help me raise money for The Bobby Moore Fund.  It was really really hot and I helped serve drinks to the golfers.  It was a really good day and it raised over £4,500 for the charity.  Tony Gale did an auction to help and he said lots of bad words but he’s ok because he is very funny.

My new school is really interested in my charity work and I got asked lots of questions when I went back on Friday.  They are going to write a story about me in the school newsletter.

I had to get up early on Saturday because some people were parachute jumping for the charity at Headcorn in Kent and I needed to go and support them.  There were 7 people parachuting and it was fun watching them.  One of them was very scared but when they landed they said it was brilliant. The parachuters raised nearly £4,000 and next year they all want to wing walk, that’s scary.

I am busy planning my February challenge and thinking of other fundraising ideas. I am also doing lots of research because I want to write a healthy eating and exercise book for kids.
