3:05 PM: Unfortunately, that’s it from us here at Rush Green Training Ground as David Moyes has finished speaking to The Media. Do keep across our Site for all the build-up to and reaction from Wednesday’s nights Premier League trip to Goodison Park on Wednesday night, we hope you’ve enjoyed what the Manager has had to say this afternoon, thank you for joining us once again and we hope that you do again later in the week for Moyes’ Pre-Manchester City Press Conference, thank you and have a fantastic rest of your days Hammers.
On His Feelings About Everton Now:
” My focus is on West Ham now, whatever Everton do, I will always look out for them and hope they do well but my focus is on maing sure that it’s West Ham out of trouble and it’s not whose at the bottom, so my talk would rather be on West Ham than Everton really”.
On David Unsworth’s Situation On Merseyside:
” I think when you are a Manager, you always look at other Managers, no Manager has an easy ride, everybody has a great level of difficulty in their Job, Unsie has taken over in a difficult period, but he’lle be dissapointed that he has not got one or two more results”.
On His Time At Goodison Park:
” It’s a great place becuase of The Staff and the pooeple who work behind the scenes, I know a lot of the players and I know David Unsworth as well, he scored after 25/30 seconds in my debut as Manager at Everton, so I will always remember Unsie for that but he’s a really good lad as well”.
” Everton was part of my life and my family’s life for a great deal of time, I don’t think there will be many Managers do 11 years at one club again, so it played a big part but I have been away for a while now and I’ve been back as well and I’m going back again”.
On Trying To Beat His Former Club:
” Not in this game becuase I need to win with West Ham and it’s really important we pick up three points, we got our first point last week, we need to try and pick up, get our first clean sheet and get our first three points as well, so either of them would be a plus for us as welland hopefully we can get them when I go back to Everton”.
On Friday Night’s Tremendous Atmosphere At Home To Leicester City:
” I think the supporters did a brilliant job for us becuase I can understand there dissapointment, but I thought the other night they got right behind the team and gave us every chance of winning, it’s been mentioned by everybody what it was like and I think maybe a lot of people thought they could not generate a similar atmosphere but I think the game against Chelsea was a brilliant atmosphere, I thught Friday night was very good because it was only one each but they could see that the players were fighting to get back in the game and win the game and take all three points, but great credit to the supporters, they really got behind the players”.
On Dropping Skipper Mark Noble And How The Midfielder Took It:
” We decided to go with more pace in the wide areas, we decided to put Arthur left and bring Manuel into the middle of the pitch and that was the reason we did it, just to give us that added speed”.
” He will certainly be part of The Squad, we will need to wait and see, we have some competition for places but there is no problem with playing him becuase he’s a good player”.
” The right way, he took it the right way but also he wants to play and be part of the team”.
” It wasn’t anything to do with a statement, I think if anyone rallies West Ham United and the players it’s Mark Noble and I certainly wouldn’t have been an expert on Mark becuase I have only been here two weeks but the people who have been around speak so highly of him and I can only say that the time iv’e been with him, even today, he is driving everybody on and making sure they are doing the right thing in training and making sure the players get the standards right”.
On The Instructions That He Is Giving His Players:
” They are very basic messages we are giving them and they should be easy to pick up on and yes, I thought there was a really good response to the game on Friday night, I thought the players done a lot of good things but we have got to do a lot more things better yet, so we’ve got to keep at it and we are trying to improve lots of the Football as well, but all the basics as well, doing the hard miles and they have to do that as a given now”.
On Injury News Ahead Of Wednesday’s Clash With Everton:
” But, we want him back fit, we have got so many games coming up and it’s the same with James Collins and even Michail Antonio, we are having to be really careful becuase The Squad isn’t the biggest and then not to have like Jose Fonte at this time, it’s really important we try to keep these boys fit, but I should say get them fit and get them ready to play”.
” He’s not trained today so I would say Javier looks as though he is certainly going to be a few dyays or maybe a wee bit longer at this rate”.’
” A couple of knocks and niggles but nothing that I’m overly concerned about, but I will wait for tomorrow to see just for sure, but I think I’m OK”.
