Matchday Live Blog

That is it from us on a disappointing night at The London Stadium, stay tuned for a comprehensive Match Report over the next few days and we hope that you join us again for our Live Blog of Slaven Bilic’s Pre-Tottenham Hotspur Press Conference, goodnight from Stratford.

” We made a statement tonight that we shouldn’t be afraid of the challenges we have”.

” You can lose three, four or five games on the spin if you are not playing well in this League”.

” Every Ground is different”

” The fact that we scored first helped us, this Stadium is different, we are further from the pitch but you can adapt to this”.

” We had to cope with a lot of crosses and dealt with them well”.

” We had control of the game in the second period and that was important”.

Hughton: “The first goal was important and it was a perfect performance for us”.

That is it from Slaven, short and sharp, we will shortly be joined by Chris Hughton and be bringing you some of his quotes.

” I cannot comment on my future, but I have belief in myself and the team”.

” It would have been the ideal game for Andy, but he was injured last season and we played well without him”.

” All I can say is that I take all responsibility, I am experienced and have done this before”.

” The good thing is that we got out of it before and we can do it again”.

” This kind of defeat affects the confidence we built”.

” We were in this situation before, the same position last season against Southampton, we got out of it before”.

” I was expecting to win because we were training good, the confidence was back”.

” I cannot be happy with the performance, but we were expecting to win the game”.

“Unfortunately, we conceded two goals early, we looked good after that, but were ordinary in front of goal”.

“We were really looking forward to this game, we had lots of players back and this game was going to bring back the confidence”.

90+1: Ayew fires over but the flag is already up.

90: Three additional minutes to suffer here in Stratford.

55: A rough Arnautovic gives away a hazardous free-kick, he is certainly up for the fight.

53: Lanzini’s delivery runs all the way through for a Brighton goal-kick, could the away side be heading for a first PL away win?

53: Masuaku does well to win the first corner of the second period.

Slaven Bilic has made one change at the break as Andre Ayew replaces Cheikhou Kouyate.

21: Lanzini delivers deep and Albion somehow clear the danger.

20: However, he has gone to ground in the aftermath and does not look good as another Reid effort is blocked out for another corner.

19: It looks like we are set up, with Lanzini in The No10 role, as Antonio wins another corner.

17: Better Football, a Hammers attack earns a corner, Lanzini’s delivery is met by Winston Reid, whose header flies over.

12: Bilic’s Boys look for a quick response, but Chicharito’s header trickles wide.
