Rice signs new deal, Bilic will soon and Tore to return to Turkey in today’s Hammers News

Hammers News

New Declan Rice contract:

It has been confirmed that up and coming u23s captain and bright prospect Declan Rice had signed a new deal, keeping him attached to the club until 2020 for his first professional contract. The 18-year-old, homegrown talent said, “I am delighted to have been rewarded with a new contract and I feel I have really kicked on this season.” Rice is one of a fantastic breed of academy defenders coming through the ranks which include Reece Burke and Reece Oxford, who are both enjoying loan spells at the moment. They have both broken through into the first team in recent years. It is massively important for the club that we keep tying down these bright young prospects.

New Bilic contract rumours:

It has recently been rumoured, according to Sky sources, that our Croatian manager Slaven Bilic has been offered a new deal at the club in accordance with his dealing of the Payet situation and the recent revival in the club’s form. The Croat has only a win percentage of 40% but he has won more games than he has lost as West Ham manager. He is a popular manager amongst most fans and certainly myself. In addition to this Bilic is also being accredited with being the right man to take this club to the next level. Bilic is regarded by most fans as the best manager in recent times, having assembled what is said to be the best squad of the last 15 years and helping us to our highest ever Premier League points total last season.

Carroll for England?

West Ham manager, Slaven Bilic, has backed our striker, Andy Carroll, to get an England call up ahead of friendlies to be played by Southgate’s side in the next few weeks. Bilic said, “I want him to get picked for England as it’s a great thing for him.” The English striker has scored 6 goals in another injury ravaged season in claret and blue, but it is certainly clear that when Carroll can maintain his fitness he is a key player for us. Carroll has 4 goals in his last 5 games including what is being suggested as the goal of the season so far, a stunning overhead kick into the top corner to put us well on our way to beating Crystal Palace in January. You can certainly say what you want about the long haired striker but he is certainly turning a few heads in the running to get a first England cap since 2012.

London stadium up for new stadium of the year:

Our much scrutinised new stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has been nominated for “new stadium of the year” as part of a 10 strong list including Bilic’s former club Besiktas’ new stadium, also CSKA Moscow’s new arena. The stadium has been the subject of much controversy from beginning with the role of the tax payer in converting the stadium to the crowd trouble that the club has been encountered in such games as Watford and Chelsea at home. However, despite the scandals, there is no denying that our new home is a beautiful stadium as well as a contender for the best stadium of 2016.

Transfer gossip Malcuit and Sturridge rumours:

It has been speculated in the Daily Mail that West Ham are eyeing up bids for Saint-Etienne left back Kevin Malcuit as well as prolific Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge. The former Monaco man Malcuit, has made 28 appearances for French side Saint-Etienne and is attracting lots of interest from across Europe, so we may have to fight for this man’s signature. English striker Daniel Sturridge has also been linked with the club. The former Chelsea man has 45 goals in 83 appearances for Liverpool and is famed for his deadly partnership with Luis Suarez during the 2012-13 season when the Scouse club almost won the league. In my opinion both moves would be very smart for our club.

Gokhan Tore reported departure from the club:

Finally West Ham loanee winger Gokhan Tore’s time at the club is reportedly over. The Turkish winger has told the Mirror newspaper his time at West Ham was ended by a team mate “my team mate tackled me and came in hard the doctors looked at it and decided I needed surgery.” He later went on to say that would conclude his loan spell with us. The Turkish winger has made just 5 appearances for us and his latest injury was sustained just 3 minutes before the end of his preparations for the home visit of Crystal Palace. The Turk will return to parent club Besiktas for the remainder of the season.
