It’s that time of the year again, yes, the January Transfer Window is upon us as we delve into the speculative world of rumours and gossip to bring you a roundup of the very latest in West Ham United speculation, there are midfielders aplenty and a certain Anderlecht prodigy.
Hammers Fail In Bid For Ireland Star
It has been reported by TalkSport that West Ham have had a bid in the region of £5 million rejected by AFC Bournemouth for their central midfielder and Republic of Ireland International Harry Arter.
The Cherries reportedly believe that the sum offered is too low for one of their main assists, although the tough-tackling player has started sporadically in red and black this season.
Members of the Claret & Blue Army may remember Arter’s name from being sent off for a second bookable offence in the first League match to be played at the London Stadium.
But, it’s clear that a higher price will be needed to lure him to East London and the question remains, will David Moyes be willing to meet the asking sum of money in today’s Market?
Moyes Shows Interest In Other Midfielders
As well as the aforementioned Arter, a series of midfield players have been linked with a move to the London Stadium by various different Media Outlets over the last few months.
Moyes has stated his intention to sign one or two players in this area ever since he took over from Slaven Bilic in November to cope with injuries to the likes of Edimilson Fernandes, Cheikhou Kouyate and Mark Noble in the last few weeks.
It would appear that Romford-born Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is the most likely, while another Top-Flight star in Stoke City’s Joe Allen and the Arsenal duo of Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin have also been mentioned.
Outside of England, the man they came so close to signing in the summer Transfer Window, William Carvalho is also the subject of speculation, whereas, Steven Nzonzi of Sevilla is more of an outside target, which one of them will be the man?
Irons Keen On Young Belgian Talent
It has been rumoured by the Sun, that the Hammers have started battling it out with Premier League rivals Manchester United for the signature of young Anderlecht star Leander Dendoncker.
The 22-year-old defender is already a full International with Belgium and has over a century of appearances with the Purple & White under his belt, although Jose Mourinho’s side are unsurprisingly the favourites to land the starlet.
Which Hammer Could Be Replacing Coutinho?
The Daily Star have claimed in the last few days that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, will look to Argentine playmaker Manuel Lanzini to take the place of their recently departed Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazil International joined Barcelona for a fee of around £150 million at the weekend after months of speculation and are looking to plug his gap sooner rather than later it’s understood, but the East Londoners are expected to keep a tight grip on the “Jewel” in their Crown.
