Manuel Lanzini has stepped up his recovery and posted a video of him kicking a ball again.
Lanzini is in the gym, working his way back from injury, and the West Ham official Twitter account re-posted his video on their channel.
It was an encouraging update from Lanzini, who is kicking a ball again, albeit in very light training.
The Argentina international was on the brink of representing his country at the World Cup.
But less than a week before the tournament kicked off, he suffered a cruel ACL injury, which has kept him out ever since.
The 25-year-old started his recovery with surgery in Barcelona but has recently returned to Rush Green.
Role in Pellegrini’s side?
If Lanzini is able to recover before the end of the season, it certainly boosts Manuel Pellegrini’s options.
Lanzini is the creative spark in central midfield that West Ham lack. He would be the perfect man to slot in and play just ahead of Declan Rice.
Here are a selection of replies from West Ham fans, who were delighted to see Lanzini’s update.
A genius of a player…. his health is most important but….. can’t wait to see him in this Pellegrini team…. could be sensational
