Press Conference Live Blog

Unfortunately, that’s it from us here at Rush Green today, thank you as ever for tuning into our Live Coverage of today’s Press Conference, do join us again tomorrow night live from The┬áLondon Stadium for build-up, Text Commentary and reaction from both Managers in the vital Premier League clash from around 5:30 PM tomorrow evening, until then, thank you and goodbye.

On Foxes Striker Jamie Vardy’s Wife Appearing in ITV Series “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here:

” I wouldn’t mind Jamie being in The Jungle either, if I could do a swap deal and put Jamie in”.

On Trying Out Youth Talents:

” I have also wanted to introduce young players as and when it’s right, I think Declan Rice has already been in, the bigger problem for Toni Martinez is that he has got a lot of competition in front of him. people who are centre-forwards Andre Ayew, Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll as well.”

On Being In Front Of The Sky Sports’ Cameras:

” I think everyone is in the spotlight all the time, we are on TV, Radio, I think Football is shown everywhere and the games are discussed, we are all aware of that”.

On His time With The Players Early On:

” I do need more time with the players, like Winston Reid and Cheikhou Kouyate, I din’t have time to work with at all last week, they weren’t involved in stuff we were doing the week before, I think it does take a little time to get to know them and understand them”.

On Tomorrow’s Opposition And The run Of fixtures Ahead:

” I’ve watched a couple of there games, obviously we are playing them, i think the structure hasn’t changed a lot from Claudio Ranieri, the same standard players and the style really suits their team and their club, I think the new Manager is a bit different, there are a few little different things I have seen, I think, but overall, we will say the same Leicester City that won The League a few years ago”.

” It makes it important but you have to play all the teams twice in a season, whether you get the in a row or spread out, I think the top five or six in The PL at the moment are very good, hot at the moment and it will be difficult against those teams, so you’ve got to make the most of it when you play the other sides”.

” So, obviously, I think the players here and myself and the Staff would really like a win as soon as we can”.

” It would be great, that for us, we need that we have got fixtures coming up that are going to be much more difficult, albeit Leicester City is a really diffucult fixture as well, I think winning is the thing that changes a lot, it changes how your week looks and how you go abut you work”.

On Players’ Mentality:

” What we have got to do is build it and make sure within the team we build it and you know, we have got to be all together and make sure that whatever happens or whatever is said outside, is affecting us all and not just one”.

On The Claret & Blue Army:

” Look, West Ham have always had a very vocal support, I can vouch for that over the years and years I came, I was always happy to get away from Upton Park after the game because I knew it would be tough, so I want them to support the team, they are knowlegable supporters, they’ve enjoyed some good times over the years here and they want their team to play well”.

” I want everybody to be together and be united and help eachother along, I wasn’t here, I’m not aware of any problems before I came, so I was a little bit surprised when I heard it, Iv’e got say, I want them behind us to give the team every chance of winning”.

On The Attitudes Of The Players:

” I’m looking for better quality play and more opportunities, albeit, I don’t think we will get many better than we got in the last game, but we just need to improve our all-round play really”.

” In think their attitude and apllication wasn’t in question for me against Watford, far from it and I said that we could show that wasn’t the case”.

On Players’ Confidence:

” Well, I think you lack a little bit of confidence at times, they’ve just lost a Manager and the only way you loose a Manager is if results are not going so good, I would say that would be an obvious thing because whst changes that is winning, playing well and if things had gone slighly different in the Watford game that could lift confidence, but the best way to do it is get on the ball and play and try and get that win under our belt”.

” If you are a player, one game is never enough anyway to do that in isolation, Iv’e only had one game with them, but I think we do have players with big reputations and really good players as well, so, I’m looking for some big performances from them”.

On What Was Learnt From the Watford Defeat:

” I think we passed it more, I think we ran more, so right away, we have to consider them as pluses, obviously what we didn’t do was score and we should have probably scored three, I still don’t think the performance meritted that, but they are the pluses and we have to look at them”.

” We analysed the game with the players quickly and got it out of the way, there were a lot of good things in the game that were not noticable and some markers in the group that we can say, that was better or this was better”.

On Injury News Ahead Of Tomorrow Night:

“Javier Hernandez we are hoping will start some running and joining in next week, so we are hopeful for him next week”.

“We don’t really have any other injuries from where we are at. It will be good to get some of the other boys back like Sam Byram and some of the younger boys back in amongst it as well”.

“We’ve got some big games and a very busy schedule coming up, so that’s why to rush back Michail Antonio and James Collins is not the right thing at the moment because of the heavy period, I’m going to need them in the coming weeks and months”.

” But, we need him back for the next couple of weeks, James Collins has bee back training, he came out one day, still feeling a bit of a tweak, so we are feeding him in and taking him out”.

” Michail Antonio is back in amongst us as well, but he looks short of fitness and match practice at the moment, so he won’t be included in The Squad”.

“Andre Ayew’s was illness, so his wan’t so bad but he’s taken a couple of days to get find his feet, but he’s back in amongst us”.

” It was badly swolen, a bit like a Boxer’s hand when we saw it the next day, but he’s fiine, he’s trained with a big plaster on it, he’s OK”.

Moyes: “It looked really serious when he came off, we thought it was bad and the first thought was broken hand and then broken thumb, but thanfully in the end, there were no breaks”.
