West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic is playing with an injury, he has revealed.
The Austrian centre-forward has admitted that he is playing through the pain barrier. But he is willing to do so for club and country.
Arnautovic has an “inflammation” on his knee. There is bruising on the bone and it is an ongoing niggle.
This is preventing the Hammers forward from training for a full week in between games as he has to rest.
But the Hammers are desperate to have their talisman fit and his tally of four goals in seven games this season has helped West Ham recover from a poor start.
However, West Ham fans are worried about Arnautovic playing during the international break.
He is currently away with the Austrian national team and is ready to play through his injury for his country.
Here are some opinions from West Ham fans after Arnie’s update.
Surely we can play Hernandez instead for a couple weeks? He get playing time, Arnie recovers, everything sorted

please don't make it worse than it is so you are out for weeks rather than a couple of weeks…..

So get him off of international duty then

But called up for International duty?

Should be withdrawn from international duty and have an actual rest tbh https://t.co/tVl69iKFmb

Really hope we don’t make the same mistake with Arnautovic as we have in the past. His knee clearly ain’t great if he can’t train half the week, give him some rest and get him 100% before it gets worse.

He shouldn’t have traveled with Austria and rested for 10 days.
