Manuel Pellegrini has been a busy man this summer, but he might just have pulled off his shrewdest signing in Lucas Perez from Arsenal.
The Spaniard has officially completed his move to the London Stadium, as confirmed by the club via their social media channels, and he should be involved in some capacity for the weekend clash with Liverpool in the Premier League.
Perez joins on a three-year deal, and will be seeking to prove a point to fans of the Premier League who have not actually seen very much of the forward.
Last season he was loaned out to former club Deportivo La Coruna, with Arsene Wenger unwilling to give him the chance most Arsenal fans desperately wanted to see him given.

It simply didn’t work out for Perez with the Gunners and he can certainly count himself unlucky, but he could be an extremely shrewd signing by Pellegrini at West Ham, as he offers something different to all the other current forwards.
Where Marko Arnautovic is physical and aggressive, and Javier Hernandez a poacher, Perez is a good technical player, who can operate anywhere across the front line, whether that be centrally or on the wings. The fact that he is left-footed is also a welcome bonus.
At just £4 million plus add-ons, this has to be seen as a bargain deal given how inflated the transfer market is at the moment, and Perez could really stand out as the Hammers’ best value for money signing come the end of the season, especially if he can recapture the form he showed in the 2015/16 season with Deportivo.
